Scotch Whisky Experience

View site: www.scotchwhiskyshop.co.uk

Situated at the top of the Royal Mile, next to the Castle in the historic city of Edinburgh, sits The Scotch Whisky Experience. tictoc were approached to develop an eCommerce website to support the Experience and extend the reach of their potential market.

I’m delighted with the final results, the site not only looks great, it’s easy for our customers to navigate and find exactly the product they are looking for with the minimum of fuss. As for those of us behind the scenes processing sales, adding new products, news stories, and pictures is simple. A huge thanks to all those at tictoc who made our first foray into the world of online retailing a pain free experience

Ross Morris – The Scotch Whisky Experience

The website is an extensive online store with the ability to search for your chosen tipple by region, age, volume or distillery. Working closely with the client, extensive work was carried out in the early stages to clearly define the project scope and site architecture to clearly understand the mindset of their target market and ensure the site was clear and easy to use.

From the homepage of the site, your selection can be filtered through a series of simple drop down lists, customers can purchase with just one click (a hugely important aspect of any eCommerce website) or you can navigate directly to your choice of Malts, Blends or Gift Packs. Through product tagging, the site is incredibly simple to navigate through and the client has the ability to cross sell products or suggest alternatives.

For those who don't quite know there Single Malts from their Blends from their Cask Strengths, there's a "Types of Whisky" resource page or for the more adventurous (although this may cause offence to the whisky hardcore!) there's a page for whisky cocktail ideas which will be regularly updated by the Experience Team.

My own personal favourite is the good old Whisky Mac:
