CWDC aims to improve the lives of children, young people, their families and carers by ensuring that those who work with children and young people have the best possible training, qualifications and support. They support about 500,000 workers around the UK.
The initial stage of the project was to undertake an in-depth research and scoping phase to establish the most effective solution to CWDC's requirements. This phase, consisting of stakeholder interviews, digital questionnaires and online research, resulted in a simplified site architecture which tictoc tailored for the varied target audiences which visit the site looking for information.
The redevelopment included the creation of a bespoke Content Management System to allow CWDC to update and control the website, staff intranet and secure extranet, and online functionality such as forums and an online booking system. tictoc have also introduced personalisation, allowing registered users to filter and tailor the content of landing pages, eNewsletters and RSS feeds to their interests. The website and CMS were also integrated with CWDC’s internal systems to reduce administration. The new intranet system includes a project profiling system, which allows relevant content to be transferred between internal departments, easing workload management and team communications.
