Seminar a success

The first tictoc seminar, held this Wednesday, passed off without a hitch despite the wet start to the day - and feedback from the lucky people who were there suggested they'd found it useful and relevant, which is always a good thing!

The seminar looked at writing for the web. Stuart Delves of Henzteeth talked first of all about the 'art' of writing for the web - particularly about how to structure copy, use signposts, and get the tone and style right for your organisation. After coffee and biscuits to keep us going our own Alan Masterson talked us through how the copy on our sites is used by search engines to assess relevance - and therefore how we can use keywords, tags and links to optimise our sites from a search engine point of view. Now au fait with concepts like keyword density and algorithms, we shared experiences over sarnies before heading out into the brightening afternoon.

- for me it was pitched at just the right level - not too technical
- both speakers were excellent
- very good biscuits!
