Scotland's Colleges

View Website

Scotland’s Colleges contribute to the work of a wide range of national committees to deliver a range of services to ensure excellence in learning effectiveness and college development.

Requirements
Scotland's Colleges needed to completely overhaul their digital resources (website, extranet, intranet, micro-sites) to improve functionality and usability, technical stability, and the user experience of their 13,000 plus registered users. They also wanted to reduce the administration burden of these systems.

Solution
tictoc worked closely with the SC working group to assess and define their requirements before undertaking the design and build stages of the project. The website was designed and tailored specifically for staff working in further education, particularly with regards the site architecture. Several bespoke systems were developed as modules for tictoc’s Clever Monkey content management system which allowed simplified management of elements such as the online event booking system. Over 1,500 pages of content and 8,000 documents were automatically migrated and populated into the new system from the existing website, making the site an extremely large resource. The website, extranet, intranet and micro-sites are all managed and run through a single system. Registered users who log-in are allowed access to one or all of these sites depending on the privilege level they have been assigned.
