The National Literacy Trust (NLT) has launched its new website after a complete redesign and redevelopment by tictoc.
The National Literacy Trust wanted the new website to look professional, and be easy to understand and to navigate...which we diligently obliged to! The dynamic homepage clearly conveys the charity’s key messages giving a variety of information targeted at the different user audiences who use the site including teachers, parents, librarians, corporate supporters and journalists. The site also gives clear links to other resources recommended by the charity.
A key feature of the new website is the integrated donation system, allowing individuals to make an online donation directly to the charity and claim gift aid while also offering fundraising ideas. Users of the website are given the ability to register their own online profile and on returning to the site are presented with a personalised homepage based on their profile settings.
The website also features a new campaigning section, which will provide an opportunity to take action for literacy and reading. Other features on the site include a new search function and news and blog sections.
National Literacy Trust Director Jonathan Douglas says:
The new website is a fantastic resource for teachers, librarians and anyone else with a passion for literacy and the benefits it brings. The new site makes it simple to search online for literacy news and resources and to get involved with literacy projects and campaigns.
The Trust’s energy and focus will also be reflected in the way that we look. The website features our new logo and visual identity which reflects our passion for working in partnership, sharing our knowledge and adopting creativity approaches to literacy."
