tictoc event: how to use social networks for business

tictoc is hosting an event with the Marketing Industry Network (what used to be the Scottish Marketing Association) that will look at how businesses can use social networks like Facebook and Twitter for business benefit. Taking place on the 1st of July in Glasgow, we'll be looking at what you can achieve through social networks, the benefits you can get, and the things you might want to think about before you start. We'll also be hearing from two very different companies who are already using social networks - Carphone Warehouse will talk about how they use Twitter for customer services, and Wiggly Wigglers will talk about how they are using Facebook, Twitter and podcasting to build a community of potential customers.

Carphone Warehouse were one of the earliest big UK brands to adopt Twitter as a method of communicating with customers, and use it as a way of reaching out to customers to solve any problems they are having. Their Online Help Manager Guy Stephens will talk about how they use Twitter to do this, and the impact they are seeing. Wiggly Wigglers were recently crowned global winners of the Dell Small Business Excellence Award - partly because of their innovative social networking strategy. Heather Gorringe, founder of the company, will be telling us about how they've used social networks to build a community of Wiggly fans. She's recently had lunch with Prince Charles, and will be on Woman's Hour (BBC R4) next week!
