Ducati website goes live

Having originally developed the Ducati Glasgow website nearly two years ago, the time had come to relaunch the site with a full online shopping experience.

Founded in 1926 by the Ducati family and other investors, the companies original aim was the production of industrial components for the growing field of radio transmissions. It wasn't until 1946 that the first motorised bicycle was launched to the world and since then has become a world renowned brand, culminating in 2007 when Ducati took its first MotoGP World Title - the first in 33 years for an Italian company.

Ducati Glasgow (Scotland's first and only Ducati dealership) first opened its doors in 2002 with the first Ducati/tictoc website being launched in 2005. With an ever increasing loyal customer base, the potential for online retailing was hugely apparent hence the launch today of the eCommerce website. With our full content management system, Ducati Glasgow are able to continually maintain products, special offers, sale items and continually track site traffic and sales. With a fully integrated, tictoc shopping cart, the whole buying process is fast and efficient for the user and is able to provide extensive statistical analysis on aspects such as most popular products sold.

Although our business centre's around motorcycle retail, our clothing departments, spare & performance parts and accessories departments are equally as demanding. The diversity of products and services we provide requires differing creative marketing solutions. We needed a new eCommerce website to retail our products in an easy to navigate package but in unison, operate within corporate guidelines and conquer these creative issues whilst remaining unique. The site had to reflect the nature of a high end, niche product with an inspiring look and feel. In conjunction, we needed the ability to amend and update every aspect of the site on a daily basis.

The platform that tictoc has created, allows us to combine these essential requirements. It allows our customer base to have a "one stop" reference and contact point. The opening hours of our store are no longer quite so relevant as our customer can both browse our products and seek answers to many questions prior to a consultation with us. A week hasn't passed and we are already feeling an impact on the sales floor.
