Buying a guitar can be an absolute nightmare if you don't know what you're doing. What's a 'pickup', a 'fret'? Do Marshall amps actually go up to 11? This massive site, though, tells you everything you need to know before buying the kit to make you the next Jimmy Page. Each section is headed by a decent blurb about the brand, type of instrument or accessory you're buying, and a customer helpline, tagged 'Got a question?' is featured prominently in the top banner. It's a huge site, covering everything from the most expensive guitars and drumkits to straps and capo, but it's simple, effective and, most crucially, logical layout, never making you feel lost or overawed. Nice little touches, such as the colour of the plectrum in the logo changing each time you reload, make you realise that it's a more complicated site than it appears.
