It's been a busy week of networking and awards! Following Claridge's, the next event was the awards in the Hilton in Glasgow.
This event couldn't have been more different to the Claridge's event! With entertainment provided by a bizarre troup of dancers (see above!) throughout the evening and hosted by the wonderful Lorraine Kelly it was an amazing show of recognition and support for all sizes of retailers from the big boys (i.e. John Lewis and Asda) to the slightly less well known (David Stein butchers).
Created by the and Scottish Business Insider, the event honours the retail sector's top achievers and recognises excellence in all areas of retail throughout Scotland.
Go go those Globe Girls!!

The latest research to come from suggests that 53% of online shoppers have more trust in brands that allow customer product reviews on their sites. 54% of UK shoppers thought it was extremely or very important to read customer reviews before making a purchase. What this points towards is the creation of ‘your own editors’, a meritocracy of users that will target rewards, and as a result enhance loyalty, as they get more and more recognition of their reviews and comments.

Mel, David and I were all at 5th Birthday at Soho Hotel last week where I gave a short talk about the merits of retailing on the net, and some of the pitfalls if you don’t do it well – we figured that achieving ‘’ in gave us licence to do so! As ever, there was a wealth of UK retailers (Claires, Dreams, Heals, Planet Organic etc) and some new agency folk including new found friends . and Heavenly. The highlight or our night wasn't my talk sadly, but hanging out with the man P Diddy. He was in town for the . We didn’t quite get to shake his hand, but David claims they got on like a house on fire! Here they both are, chatting away like old acquaintances, hhhmmmm

Our London office is on a roll at the moment, winning two clients in one week. This time it’s the natural flooring company . The brief is to try and replicate online the warm, cosy feeling you get from visiting their small but perfectly formed stores. And they want to take a more premium, luxury positioning. We took the brief in their Notting Hill store and fell in love with the back office and it’s eclectic-ness. It was like being at home, so comfortable and easy. We’re going to try and bottle it! Keep your eyes peeled for the new site which hopefully goes live before in September.

We kicked off a shiny new project with today by meeting the founders Renée and Brian Elliot. It’s an exciting new project for our London office, not least because Planet Organic have never embarked on a major online project of this kind before. They told us that many agencies had been knocking on their door. This makes it all the more prized, and we’re proud and delighted to be chosen as their partner as they’re the kind of visionary, ethical client we like the most. We’ll keep you updated on progress, and you may even see some news in various magazines and websites very soon.
